High-energy quartet Otoboke Beaver, hailing from Japan, brings their high-energy garage and surf-tinged punk rock sound on a 29-show North American tour running from February through March 2024.
Since their first global release in 2016, they’ve been invited to numerous festivals, including SXSW, FujiRock Festival, Coachella, Lowlands Festival, and Koyabu Sonic Festival, and have toured the globe. Just in the last year, they toured Australia, Japan, Southeast Asia, and Europe, and they show no signs of stopping. Comprised of Accorinrin (Lead Vocal & Guitar), Yoyoyoshie (Guitar & Vocals), Hirochan (Bass & Vocals) and Kahokiss (Drums & Vocals), the band embodies the riot grrrl ethos through their genre-bending sound, charmingly threatening stage presence, and raucous vocals, which are girly in timbre but fierce in execution.
Joining Otoboke Beaver on tour is labelmate Drinking Boys & Girls Choir (DBGC), a South Korean trio consisting of MJ (Drums), Meena (Bass), and Megan (Guitar). As a long-time LGBTQIA+ activist, MJ channeled that passion into the band’s latest album, Marriage License, a cohesive project speaking up against oppression and celebrating love of all forms. WIth vlog-like music videos and pastel outfits, they show us that the revolution can be… kind of cute?
