Concluding their first ever U.S. tour, Weeekly brought their Weeekly University Grand America show to Los Angeles for an unforgettable evening. Taking place on a Sunday night wasn’t enough to deter fans, known as Daileee, as they flocked to the Teragram Ballroom, filling it to the brim. With a runtime of a little over 90 minutes, the show was jam-packed with the group’s biggest hits for Daileee to sing, dance, and cheer along to.
Holdint a university student-themed show, the six members made their way onstage dressed in caps and gowns and opened the concert with “Good Day (Special Daileee).” Midway through the song, the girls took off the gowns to reveal varsity jackets. This small gesture symbolized Weeekly’s graduation from high school and the start of university. Showing off their impressive energy right from the start, the next performance on the setlist was a medley of two of the group’s most popular songs, “Tag Me (@Me)” and “Zig Zag.” Continuing the momentum, next up was “Holiday Party,” followed by their biggest hit, “After School.” These songs, paired with the graduation concept, depicted the group’s beginning on their musical journey.

Now that they were done with their first semester and a holiday party, it was time for the group to take the next step, with something akin to an internship. In between performances, a video played on the screen called the “Weeekly Talk Show” in which the group discussed their music, performances, and growth in a newsroom format. Shortly after, this seamlessly led into the next segment, or semester, at Weeekly University. Donning blouses, dresses, and skirts in professional white and grey tones, the girl group returned to the stage to perform “Hello,” “Dance Dance Dance!,” “VROOM VROOM,” and a cover of Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time.”
The group’s cover was undoubtedly one of the evening’s best performances, as Daileee were blown away with the group’s English pronunciation, effortless high notes, and melodic harmonies. Additionally, this segment served as a great turning point for the group, showing off their versatility with a genre switch from the opening. While the first part of the show was filled with cuter, bubbly songs focusing more on aegyo-filled choreography and bright lights, this segment was more toned down and focused more on the group’s vocal prowess. Moving on from this semester, the next segment leveled up once more in maturity.

Making their way back to the stage after a video showcasing the group’s preparations for the tour, Weeekly had switched outfits once more. This time, the girls embodied “girl crush” as they dressed in various black crop tops and blue jeans, exuding the vibes of the cool, laid-back campus seniors. Songs in this segment included “Classic,” “Backwards,” and “Stranger (English Ver.),” of which the first two emphasized the group’s synchronized, relaxed execution of their choreography and the third focused on time to interact with fans. During the third track, the members greeted the crowd, taking selfies, posing for photos, and taking gifts. While previous performances all focused on showing off the group’s talent, this one showed another side of the girls as they took in the crowd and got up close and personal.
These three tracks brought Weeekly’s university journey to a close, and the members gave their final greetings and thanks before retreating backstage. Even after a school year ends, however, there’s still a graduation ceremony left to look forward to. Similarly, Weeekly ran on stage once more to greet Daileee for a final time for the night with an encore prepared. Sporting their tour tees, the girl group burst back on stage to perform “Page (A Story That Reached Me)” and “Top Secret,” two songs with meaningful lyrics that invoke nostalgia befitting a graduation ceremony. Although tours are plentiful these days, few truly stick to a concept through the entire show, especially one as unique as journeying through school. Weeekly executed this concept effortlessly, showcasing highlight reel of their career and musical growth.
