JAY B Embarks on First Solo U.S. Tour

JAY B will be heading stateside this June for his Tape:Re Load tour. In years past he has toured the U.S. as part of K-pop group, GOT7, but this will be the singer’s first solo tour in the States.

Prior to his music career, he actually debuted in 2012 with the stage name JB as an actor, playing Jang Woo-jae in the JYP Entertainment drama series, Dream High 2. Later that year, he joined fellow JYP trainee Jinyoung to debut as music duo, JJ Project, releasing an album with the title track “Bounce.” In 2013, the singer made another appearance in MBC’s drama, When a Man Falls in Love, and in 2014, he debuted once more as part of GOT7. Aside playing many roles in the group–leader, vocalist, and dancer– he also began producing and writing music for the group under the pseudonym, Defsoul or Def.

In 2019, JAY B made yet another debut in the GOT7 sub-unit, Jus2, along with youngest member YUGYEOM. In January 2021, the group’s contract with their company expired, and each member went their own way, though remaining members of GOT7. JAY B debuted as a solo artist under H1ghr Music in February of the same year. The singer later took a break in February 2023 when he enlisted for his mandatory military duties. In October of that same year, he signed with Mauve Company. Most recently, JAY B released his first full solo album, Archive 1: [Road Runner], in November 2024. The album features “Crash” as its title track.
