On her Twits tour, Hwasa performs at Atlanta’s Coca-Cola Roxy. While Hwasa has toured the U.S. previously with her group MAMAMOO, this is her first solo stateside tour. Hwasa makes a strong first impression on stage, wearing an outfit reminiscent of an 80s-era Madonna. She greets the crowd in an unbuttoned white shirt and the most micro of short shorts.

Hwasa begins her set with the eponymously titled song, “Hwasa.” It’s a bold yet incredibly clever introduction. Hwasa is defining her identity alone as a soloist. With the stage finally all to herself, Hwasa’s incredible presence and powerful vocals completely take over the venue. Even her male backup dancers, with their ogling eyes and unrequited love-calls, act more as an onstage audience allowing Hwasa to declare her dominance and assert the stage as her own.
She smoothly segues into “Chili” where she showcases her underrated rapping skills and then follows that up with her most popular song to date, “Twit.” With its undeniable and rather simple lyrics, the crowd chants the chorus under Hwasa’s prompting and direction.
Solo work is tiring work, and Hwasa occasionally takes a break from performing to engage in playful banter with the crowd. In one instance, she seductively expresses her love for the term “Hot-lanta.” In another instance, after the crowd noise hit a fever pitch, she proclaims that she doesn’t need to visit the Atlanta Zoo anymore because it feels like the zoo came to her. This joke, of course, prompts the crowd to somehow grow even more raucous.
Hwasa then shifts gears and quiets the crowd by singing a ballad version of her song, “Maria.” Even in the midst of all the noise, Hwasa finds a moment for some quiet introspection. As the concert slowly draws to a close, Hwasa blesses the audience with a MAMAMOO medley which elicits the loudest cheers yet. That is until she walks through the audience during the encore, conducting a free impromptu hi-touch session. For the final song, Hwasa covers “LUNCH” by Billie Eilish. The night ends with a bonding moment as the crowd and Hwasa sing the entire song together.
