On the Apple Cinnamon Crunch tour, Yves gave fans an unforgettable evening at the Orpheum Theater on January 30. After entering the elegant venue, fans were buzzing with excitement for the singer’s first U.S. tour. Once the lights dimmed, Yves opened the show with the dreamy and ethereal “Loop.” Her smooth delivery of the hypnotic melody instantly had fans getting on their feet to dance. Flowing easily with the rhythm, she performed graceful yet powerful hand choreography with precision and poise.
As the night continued, she performed a fan favorite, “Diorama.” The crowd swayed along to the sleek R&B song, while waving their colorful light sticks in the air. Moved by the sea of lights before her, Yves beamed affectionately at the sight before her. For the electro thumping “Viola,” the performer captivated the audience with her strong stage presence on a simple stage, not needing any flashy theatrics to back her up.
Surprising the audience, Yves performed her own renditions of English songs, Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” and Avril Lavigne’s “My Happy Ending.” While honoring the original songs, she put her own spin on these classics and proved her versatility as a musical artist. Pausing for a moment, Yves spoke with the audience about the recent destructive wildfires in Southern California, expressing her condolences to those impacted by the tragic incident. The sincerity of her warm words touched the audience, and she hoped her show offered attendees a brief respite.
For her final encore, Yves performed “Viola” once again, to the delight of the crowd. Even after a long night, she performed the earworm of a track with renewed energy. Ending the night on a high note, she invited her dancers to take center stage to give them credit for helping elevate her performance, before they left the stage together. From start to finish, Yves delivered a mesmerizing performance that had fans leaving the theater with smiles and eager for her to make good on her promise to return for another show in the future.
