iHeartRadio’s 102.7 KIIS FM Wango Tango this year will be an event full of firsts. It’s the first time the event will take place in Huntington Beach, it’s the first time a Chinese girl group is on the lineup, and it’s the first time half the lineup is comprised of Asian acts: K-pop and C-pop groups.
Since 1998, Wango Tango is an annual music festival that has continued to grow and evolve over the years. It’s taken place at a variety of locations, such as Dodger Stadium, the Rose Bowl, Angel Stadium, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, Crypto.com Arena, and StubHub Center. This year’s festival will be the first time the event is taking place oceanside, scheduled to happen in Orange County’s Huntington Beach on May 10.
The lineup features Doja Cat, Meghan Trainor, David Guetta, HYBE x Geffen Records girl group KATSEYE, K-pop girl group NMIXX, K-pop boy group xikers, K-pop girl group Hearts2Hearts, and C-pop girl group A2O MAY.
Formed on 2023 reality show Dream Academy, KATSEYE debuted in June 2024 with their song “Debut.” Following their debut, the global girl group released their first follow-up single, “Touch,” to viral success. At time of press, the music video has almost 100 million views, and the song has over 250 million streams on Spotify.
NMIXX debuted in February 2022 with their title song “O.O.” Both their debut single album, Ad Mare, and first comeback single album, Entwurf, debuted at number one on the Korean album charts. Their 4th EP, Fe304: FORWARD, will be released on March 17, with lead track “High Horse.”
xikers debuted in March 2023 with title songs “Tricky House” and “Rockstar.” The 10-member group features members from competition shows like Under Nineteen. Their debut EP sold over 100,000 copies in just its first week. Most recently, the group released “위치 (WITCH)” in September 2024.
Hearts2Hearts is the last of four pieces of SM Entertainment’s SM 3.0 strategy, behind the debuts of NCT Wish, RIIZE, and Naevis. Originally slated to debut in early 2024, the group officially made their debut in February of this year, with their single album, The Chase, and title track of the same name.
As part of A2O Rookies, A2O MAY is the first group of trainees to make their debut. Releasing their first single, “Under My Skin,” in December 2024, the debuted unit is comprised of Chenyu, Kat and her twin Miche, Quchang, and Shijie. Although the group debuted in China and consists of all ethnically Chinese members, they were formed under A2O Entertainment, an American K-pop agency founded by SM Entertainment founder Lee Sooman and is based in Los Angeles, CA.
Ticket sales begin on Friday, March 14th, at 10AM PST, and can be purchased on AXS.com.
