Korean indie-rock band The Rose will perform 15 shows in North America on their Once Upon A WRLD tour. The quartet, composed of main vocalist Kim Woosung, guitarist Park Dojoon, drummer Lee Hajoon and bassist Lee Taegyeom (formerly known as Lee Jaehyeong), will be touring to promote their latest EP, WRLD. WRLD, which was just released on May 30, has already become their highest-selling EP to date.
WRLD is a seven-track album that highlights The Rose’s progression from their primarily acoustic beginnings to their current expansive rock sound. Whereas their earlier works were simple, quiet and introspective, their latest work is complex, rich and bombastic. The Rose also took another approach with WRLD; the entire album is sung in English.
Once Upon A WRLD is The Rose’s first North American tour since 2023. However, they performed at Coachella in April 2024, which made them the first Korean rock band to perform at the iconic music festival. Their performance garnered favorable media coverage, expanded their international fanbase, and raised the profile of the Korean indie rock scene.
