K-pop soloist Lee Taemin has lived most of his life performing on the stage. Debuting at 15 as part of the legendary boy group, SHINee, he quickly became known for his sharp dancing skills and sweet smile. As he grew alongside his members, his skillset also expanded and flourished. Taemin worked hard and became recognized as a well-rounded artist with the release of his first solo album, Ace. On January 16, 2026, 18 years after his debut, he brought his artistry to Las Vegas for the first time. Wrapping up his Veil tour with a special one-night-only performance in “Sin City,” the once young and doe-eyed artist showed off his growth, maturity, and talent with an extravagant concert.

For this show, the singer told a story through his stage performances linked by videos. The night began with a grand unveiling. As ominous instrumental music played, dark red curtains parted to reveal Taemin, hanging in the air. The moment was reminiscent of the entrance of a demon lord or vampire. Slowly lowering down onto the stage, the singer was then enveloped by a heavy layer of fog. Donning a flowy white prince-like suit, Taemin was surrounded by his all-woman dance crew, who were dressed in bold black and gold warrior-esque outfits. Like a prince and his royal guards, their joint performance began straight away.

The concert kicked off with “Heaven,” a theatrical song that highlighted Taemin’s strong vocals, sharp dance moves, and undeniable stage presence. The show continued on with “Veil,” which featured an enchanting dance break where the singer was dancing in the dark, surrounded by dancers holding flashlights. Next was “Bones,” in which he faced off against the dancers in powerful and graceful battle-like choreography.  The performer then prepared a unique mashup, combining his songs “Advice” and “Idea” in a manner that pulled together the most intense moments of each track. With a strong rock instrumental, “Shadow” brought the intensity up even more. This part of the show focused on some of Taemin’s most performance-centric tracks, showcasing the singer’s devilish persona, grand stages, and dark music.

The next part of the show began with a video of the artist’s desire to escape a cage built around him, only to be dragged back in at the last second. As the screen and stage went dark, the lights flickered before revealing the metal cage from the video had now appeared onstage with Taemin trapped inside and dancers crawling around and atop it. This led to “Guess Who,” a strong performance during which the singer broke free from the cage, only to be locked back in by the end, just like in the video. He escaped once again during “Sexy In The Air” and “Criminal,” two tracks that embodied Taemin’s sensuality and confidence and symbolized that embracing who he is gave him the strength to break free.

Following back-to-back performances, Taemin finally took his first break to greet the audience after “Criminal.” “I’ve performed 12 shows for the Veil tour so far, and this is my final one. Because of that, it’s so meaningful to me. I also prepared some special things since it’s my last show, and it’s here in Las Vegas,” he shared. “I wanted to show my identity with this concert, so I hope you all love the VCRs, concept, and story.” The singer, who had only showed his cool persona thus far, was full of bright smiles and laughter during his introduction.

This contrast perfectly highlighted who Taemin is when he’s in performance mode and not. While he often presents a darker persona in his artistry, he also carries light and warmth. And the next performance of “Exclusive” reflected this, with much more color and brightness. Taemin, the expert performer that he is, was able to switch concepts in the blink of an eye, launching straight back into a more mature concept with “Sexuality” filled with hip thrusts galore. In another video, the singer asked Messiah for forgiveness but stated that he must continue forward. This was a representation of Taemin’s commitment to his artistry; even if his concepts stray away from the norm, he will stay true to his originality and vision regardless of what others think.

This led into one of the night’s best stages, “Door.” Wearing a beautiful, flowy purple blouse embellished with jewels and loose pants, he appeared once more, restrained to a large tower at center stage. Bound by a ribbon and blindfolded, the artist began to dance. His graceful movements, like flowing water, were highlighted by the fluidity of his outfit and accessories. Halfway through “Door,” he broke free of the restraints, symbolizing his breaking through to the opportunities he’s earned through his hard work. His blindfold stayed on until the halfway through the next song, “Guilty,” one of his biggest hits. The singer closed the segment with “Flame of Love,” in which he performed beautiful choreography with one other dancer.

Despite not being on the original setlist, the singer prepared surprise performances of older songs: “Move,” “Want,” and “Horizon.” He then shocked the crowd with an unreleased track, “Long Way Home.” Throughout the evening, it became clear that Taemin likes contrast. Bright songs would be followed by dark, intense performances, and his bright personality contrasts his unique concept. The song was sweet and simple, and he performed it with a mic stand that immediately reminded older fans of SHINee’s “Dream Girl” days. As if he could feel the nostalgia in the air, he then performed his solo debut song, “Danger,” and another old favorite, “Press Your Number,” before bidding fans with a final goodbye.

“I know we are all in different stages of our lives, but right here and now, we are the same,” Taemin began. “I will never forget this moment, and I hope you have seen who the artist Taemin is. I hope to show you my grateful heart with this last song,” he sweetly shared, before serenading the crowd once last time with “Perhaps Love.” Taking a final bow, the curtains pulled to a close, and the night came to its end. Through a uniquely curated setlist and narrative-driven performances that showcased Taemin’s range, the veil was lifted, giving audiences a genuine view of who Lee Taemin truly is—art itself.
