Epik High is returning to the U.S. this fall with their 3.0 North American Tour. Slated to begin at the end of September in New York, the tour will bring the hip hop trio from east to west, wrapping up in San Diego at the end of October.
Formed in 2002, Epik High is composed of Tablo, Mithra Jin, and DJ Tukutz. The trio are widely known to be K-Hip Hop pioneers, contributing to the growth and global rise of the genre with their music. In 2003, Epik High made their debut with the album Map of the Human Soul, which critics claimed had lyrics that were too complex. Their second album, High Society, also met the same response. However, the 2005 release of their third album, Swan Song, is when things changed. The group believed the album would be their last due to the poor reception of their music thus far. Instead, title track “Fly” became a mainstream hit, reaching number one on domestic charts and featuring on the soundtrack for video game FIFA 07. Since then, each album has continued to garner more public attention. 2007 release, Remapping the Human, Soul featured upbeat singles “Fan” and “Love Love Love,” and 2008 release, Pieces, Part One, contained hit songs “One” and “Umbrella.”
Now, decades later, the trio are still releasing music and performing together. In 2023, the group released their third EP, Strawberry, and held sold-out 20th anniversary concerts in South Korea. In 2024, they released their first mixtape, Pump, and set off on a stateside tour of the same name. The Epik High 3.0 North American Tour marks their first tour across the continent since 2024.
