The Landlord’s Cat is a Chinese indie folk duo consisting of guitarist Wu Peiling and vocalist Wang Xinyi. Their music and their personalities are as endearing as their name, which was inspired by seeing a cat atop a building after one of their early practice sessions. After going viral in 2014, they’ve amassed a steady fan base across China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and other parts of Asia. Their latest album “World/Youth” was released in 2023 and has a broad sonic palette, with songs ranging from acoustic ballads to shoegaze-y, ambient tracks to propulsive rock numbers. In November 2023, the duo will visit four cities across the US on this tour.
