On her first solo world tour, Whee In performed in Los Angeles on May 19, making it her second performance in the city within a year. She last put on a headlining show in LA with fellow group members for MAMAMOO’s My Con tour in 2023. As a seasoned performer, she had no problem commanding the crowd with her vocal and dance abilities. Since LA marked the eleventh concert on her world tour, the performer was warmed up and ready to pour her heart and soul into the fiery night ahead.
Best known as one of the four members in the vocal powerhouse of MAMAMOO, Whee In made her solo debut in 2018 with Magnolia. She would release two mini albums in the years after, and finally follow up with her first full length album, IN the mood. Her tour name comes from a combination of her Instagram handle (@whee_inthemood) and the first track from her latest album, “I Know I Know I Know (Beyond).”
Coincidentally, that track opened the show as Whee In appeared center stage in an off-shoulder chrome dress. Demonstrating her strong vocals, she powered through two challenging songs with ease as she moved beside her dancers. Stage lighting shifted to fit each song’s mood, designed to bathe the stage with the right colors.
Taking a moment to address the crowd during the first ment, Whee In reminded fans, known as MooMoos, to take a seat, even though they were more than eager to continue standing. She couldn’t hold back her excitement from talking about the special stages that were exclusively performed at her concert. “I missed you guys so much! This is my first solo concert, and through this album, I want to show you what kind of artist I am.” As she reflected on her time last year with her fellow members, MooMoos feverishly waved their Moobongs. Two even dressed up in LED costumes of the radish itself.
Returning the crowd’s enthusiasm, Whee In shifted into the R&B and rap portion of her setlist. Taking on the role of rapper, she covered Sik-K’s verses in “EASY” while dancing to a duet choreography during pH-1’s rap in “TRASH.” Slowing down the energy with “Bite Me,” the soloist performed a special live version without HAON.

During her second ment, Whee In commented on LA’s vigor. She burst out saying, “That’s the shit!” while pointing directly at the crowd. She added, “I learned this phrase a long time ago, but do you use this phrase in a good way?” MooMoos assured her with barks and cheers. She went on to ask who saw the MyCon tour last year. “I couldn’t perform my solo part because I was singing Solar’s solo song.” But now on this tour, she could show MooMoos a different side of herself.
“The earlier song ‘Bite Me’ has a lot of pitch and is a type of participation song. Specifically for this concert, I decided to use all my voice,” said Whee In. “Bite Me is the only song you can see at my concert. I was really worried. I didn’t expect so many people but thank you so much for taking the time to come see me.”
The next section of the set featured songs that allowed for Whee In to share her softer vocals, serenading the audience with the gentle melodies of “Butterfly,” “Paraglide,” and “Make Me Happy.” As the concert approached its midpoint, a video spotlighted some trivia about Whee In: whether she prefers spicy food or non-spicy food, as well as going solo or being in a group. Of course, she chose “group” as a shot of her MAMAMOO members displayed on screen.
After an outfit change, the singer came back onstage in a skintight, shimmery mesh outfit, signaling a shift towards the sultrier portion of her concert. Fans went wild during the extended performance of “Deserve” and the sensual composition of “On The Island.”
Ahead of the long awaited “In the Mood,” her three-person team helped install a hands-free mic while touching up her hair and makeup onstage at breakneck speed. This was all because she wanted to spend more time with the audience and didn’t want to go backstage. It would also be well worth the wait as MooMoos went into a barking rampage after her sexy track, “Shhh.” Lights drowned the stage in a dark red as Whee In performed some intimate choreography with the dancers. Both she and the crowd had to catch their breath after that stage.
“I wanted to show a sexual side of me,” revealed the singer. MooMoos cheered in joy as she said those words. “You guys are weird, haha!” Her crew came back onstage after “Pastel” and finished their touchups in a minute and a half. “I heard that around 1,900 tickets were sold but I couldn’t believe that this venue was so full.” The performer told fans that she worked hard on creating unique stages so that people would come back to her concert. Although she wanted to spend more time with the audience, she had to move onto the “last” song of the main concert, “Here I Am.”
One last video played as the singer walked offstage, which featured Whee In pretending to be a cat. As an instrumental of “OHOO” played in the background, the dancers came onstage with life sized cat toys to lure the performer on stage. She returned with cat ears as an homage to the song, which is inspired by her cat Ggomo. As a surprise for her, mooble—the MAMAMOO fan group—put together a video of LA MooMoos showing their support and appreciation for Whee In.
The production and attention to detail that Whee In and her team put into her first world tour was nothing short of impressive. At her LA stop, she showed off her prowess as a veteran entertainer as well as her deep appreciation to her fans.
